Part 3 Group Work Matt P The interviews I read about were a little different. What they talked about how hard it was to get a job during this time and they were not getting paid a lot. This part of time was very hard to live in. People were out of jobs and couldnt afford anything. In this era there was the lowest amount of jobs of all time and if people did have jobs, they were not getting paid the right amount. Everyone was not treated fairly and were not getting paid the right amount, but as long as they got money to live off, they were happy. Mr. Garavelli was a man in his fifties. He was a stone cutter. life was hard because many stone cutters died from silica. He did not make much money and he said that silica cannot get to him, because in his end of the shed, there is not much dust at the end of his shed. Mr. Garavelli also thinks he is smart because he is one of the few people who do not have silica. Anna Novak is married with two children. She has two boys, one age 10 and one age 13. She works at a packing house and has been for eight years. She works hard and she siad that she would much rather work any place but the stock yards. She says this because of one reason. That reason is because her. boss is not nice to anyone.
Jill - The interviews that I read really made me think of how hard life was back then. The people that I read about worked a lot but didn't get paid enough to feed themselves or there families. People couldn't find jobs anywhere and they were more than desparte to find any job they can have.
